She Committed To Her Goal

It all starts with a goal! At the start of 2020, Rebel made a commitment to prioritize her health, calling it "The Year of Health" and even encouraged followers to join her fitness journey in an Instagram post.

She didn't rush herself and started by going for small walks and cleaning up her diet. Despite objections from her own team and other personal challenges, the Aussie actress set a 60-pound weight loss goal, which she more than achieved!

She Made Gradual Changes

While most people who want to lose weight often go straight to the gym to sweat it out with high-intensity workouts, Rebel decided to do things differently. After being advised by a doctor to introduce walking to her daily routine, Rebel was enlightened and decided to do it gradually. She started doing walks for an hour, six days a week, and later became more engaged with activities.

"Sometimes the simplest thing like getting out and walking for an hour a day is the kindest thing to your body, and your body will respond to that," she said in an interview.

She Stopped Emotional Eating

Diet is a crucial part of her weight loss journey. According to Rebel, emotional eating was the reason her weight got out of control, so she knew it was time to clean up her food intake.

"I think what I really suffered from was emotional eating and dealing with the stress of becoming famous internationally. There is a lot of stress that comes with it, and I guess my way of dealing with it was just eating donuts," she shared at The Drew Barrymore Show.

Emotional eating is often caused by underlying stress and negative emotions. It can be treated with therapy and learning how to better cope with emotions.

She Worked On Her Mental Health

Apart from the exercise and diet changes, Wilson also did some self-reflection and got to the root cause of why she was unhealthy.

Her holistic approach to fitness allowed her to focus on her mental health, which helped her develop a better relationship with food.

She Knows Her Worth

While Rebel's wellness journey may have been challenging, the actress came through victoriously. Not only does she have a healthier body now, she also has a better outlook on life. She confidently celebrates her body, reminding fans that everyone is worthy of living their best lives.

"It’s never too late to improve yourself - to improve your health, your heart, your happiness, your harmony. For everyone out there just trying to be a lil bit better this week: go for it! Every bit counts. Every effort is worth it. You’re worth it."
