She Does Not Play With Fitness

Kaye does not play around when it comes to her fitness routine. Although she did not start working out until she was in her 20s, the actress has fallen in love with fitness and has reaped the benefits both physically and mentally. "Now exercise is almost more important to me mood-wise," she said. Although she has built a strong and toned body from working out, she said the physical part feels "like a great side effect."

She Does Morning Workouts

The Underworld film series star told WH that she is one to work out first thing in the morning. "I wake up, eat something, and go straight to the gym," she said. She exercises almost every day of the week. Brad Siskind of Gunnar Peterson's gym told Women's Health that for Kate, "The whole hour is work." She cuts back on carbs and sugar; instead, she eats lots of protein and vegetables. She is not a big drinker of alcohol but is a big fan of Rooibos tea.

She Loves Compound Exercises

Kate starts her workouts with eight compound exercises that work for two muscle groups at once, after which she does 90 to 120 seconds of a cardio interval. She follows it up with another set of eight exercises but this time with heavier weights, bands, or faster reps.

After which, she tends to do a cardio interval. She finishes up her workouts with a good stretch. Kate likes to do LEKFit classes while bouncing on a trampoline in her kitchen. She engages in some boxing workouts, too, and does not neglect her core.

She Loves Yoga

Kate's Instagram feed is filled with yoga poses. "I love yoga, and that's all I used to do," she once told Shape. Even when she goes out of town to film, she packs recorded yoga workouts. "I haven't been injured while doing an action movie, and I think it's partially from practicing yoga," she said.

The actress is right to love yoga; according to Mayo Clinic, yoga improves the function of the nervous system and can improve joint range of motion, and improves dynamic balance. Incorporating yoga into your workout routine can benefit your stress level, mobility, and balance in ways that may not be achieved from a regular gym routine.
