She Does The Fit52 Workout

Together with trainer Eve Overland, Carrie created the Fit52 fitness app - a fresh approach to wellness that mixes up workouts for a unique routine. Users are provided with an exercise and a number of reps randomly, depending on the kind of card drawn.

"Fitness is a true passion for me," Underwood said in an interview.  "The Fit52 app incorporates what I've been doing myself for years, and we've made it easy and totally accessible for anyone that wants help to work in working out."

She Hydrates With BodyArmor

Hydration is especially important when you sweat so much from exercising. Carrie's drink of choice aside from water is BodyArmor. The energy drink is loaded with electrolytes and vitamins to help support those with active lifestyles.

"Staying hydrated is something that I feel like we can all take for granted and maybe don't pay enough attention to, so I try to make it easy, always available, and now it's just part of my routine," Carrie explained to Shape.

She Eats Real Food

When it comes to food, Carrie stays away from processed meals and prefers vegetables and fruits. She is a vegetarian and enjoys a healthy, plant-based diet. Carrie also has her own garden of homegrown fruits and veggies at home, which she often uses in her recipes.

"I just make sure I’m eating real food. I love vegetables and fruit," she told Shape. "Generally, I just try to make good choices and eat real food."

According to Mayo Clinic, a healthy diet of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains is ideal to reduce inflammation in the body. Sugary foods and drinks can trigger inflammation and contribute to oxidative stress.

She Drinks Protein Smoothies

Aside from making sure that she has healthy meals, she also drinks post-workout protein smoothies to aid in muscle recovery. As she told Shape, she uses the BodyArmor drink as the base and then adds beets, mixed berries, spinach or kale, protein powder, and some ice.

"I actually love doing smoothies for lunch. It's a combination of post-workout and sometimes it's also my lunch, cause I'm usually running somewhere and a smoothie is an easy thing to take on the go or in my car."

She Is In Tune With Her Body

Being a mom has changed Carrie's attitude about fitness for the better. She now has a more holistic approach to health and wellness. Her advice to moms like her is to "start slow" and don't push the body too hard.

"I feel like the most important thing to share about my fitness journey is, it is a marathon. And when you focus on your overall wellness, including the health of your body and mental health — that makes everything so much better."
