Eva Longoria has come full circle being a Hollywood beauty and gaining fame for her glory TV days. The star actress, who is still very much active in the industry, had her humble beginnings just like every other star. However, it is safe to say that her early career story is unique in its own right. Longoria joined the Hollywood sphere in 1999, and by 2001 she was on her way to gaining recognition.

She joined the cast of the long-running TV series, The Young And The Restless, starring as Isabella Brana from 2001 to 2003. After her exit, Longoria was ready to take on the world and fans got to see her make more pivotal moves in TV shows like Desperate Housewives, Telenovela, Jane The Virgin, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, among others.

Her journey through The Young and the Restless posed to be an impactful one and Longoria has proved it a few times. For one, the star has shared that prior to joining the CBS-produced show, she always dreamed of appearing in a soap opera. She shared on Late Night With Seth Meyers that starring in the series was an actualization of her dream.

Longoria Worked Two Jobs While On The Show

When Eva Longoria became a part of The Young and the Restless, it was two years after she started out in the movie industry. At the time, she made $900 per episode, and according to her, this could not sort all the bills. The TV actress worked as a headhunter on the side. According to Entertainment Weekly, Longoria once shared that she was a headhunter on one side while trying to keep her Hollywood career floating. She stated:

"I was a headhunter while I was on The Young and the Restless. I was doing it out of my dressing room. It wasn’t until two years into The Young and the Restless that I was actually able to live off just acting. The business side of it has allowed me to utilize muscles that you don’t normally use as an actor."

Headhunting Paid The Bills

Headhunting was Longoria's first job when she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting dreams. She would often attend to her second job right in her dressing room on the set of "Y&R." Longoria would come to rack in her biggest checks as a soap star, but at first, headhunting was the real deal. Longoria revealed that she was so good at the headhunting job that she earned $100,000 per annum. All this was when the actress was just 22.

Playing Isabella Brana Was Challenging

The 47-year-old actress has described her Isabella Brana role as a complex and challenging one. She said about playing Isabella:

"I feel I've been very lucky in the roles I've played over the past several years. Isabella, for example, was so complex, so full of anger and love at the same time. She was a challenge to play."

Isabella was a force to reckon with as she was a diva on a mission. She was entangled in a web of drama after Michael Baldwin brought her in to disrupt Paul Williams and Christine Blair's marriage. This in turn spun a plot that played out her villainous character.

She Had Some Improvisation Skills

While acting out scripts is very key to being an actor, improvisation skills are also highly regarded. Longoria employed some of hers on The Young and the Restless, but she faced some challenges with it. Longoria made it known to Seth Meyers that the director was not too pleased when she improvised, but that usually came into play when other actors refused to stick to their scripts.
