She Learned About Her Body

It took a while for Holly to find the right fitness flow that worked for her. She admitted in an Instagram post that it took her four years to reach her goal weight.

Holly went to a nutritionist to better understand her body's metabolism. “It wasn’t until I finally went to a nutritionist a year ago that I started making any progress. I had to know what foods worked with my metabolism before a diet became effective.”

She Plans Her Meals

Holly developed a healthier approach to diets. She is no longer into crash dieting and also doesn't count calories. But, she watches what she eats and plans out her meals. She also likes to start her meal with a healthy appetizer to help prevent her from overeating.

"The way you combine foods is really important, so you're not eating carbs and protein together," she explained in her book, The Vegas Diaries.

She Has Fun Working Out

If you want to stick to your fitness routine, don't think of it as a chore. If you easily get bored, don't stick to just one kind of workout. Figure out what activities you enjoy and mix up your routine.

Holly makes her exercises more fun by doing Instagram videos for her followers. She shared a clip of a pre-workout session where she did the #skichallenge, entertaining her followers on social media.

Adults need 150 minutes of cardiovascular exercise every week, says Mayo Clinic. For a fresh approach, do the 10-10-10 workout. Start on one machine for 10 minutes, move to the second one for another 10 minutes and then finish on a third machine for the last 10 minutes. Doing multiple activities can help the minutes fly by quickly.

She Doesn't Pressure Herself

To take the pressure off, Holly didn't set a time limit for her weight loss plan. She told People that she wanted to get healthy but needed it to be on her own terms.

“I’m going to get healthy, but I’m not going to focus on how fast I’m losing weight. I don’t have a time limit."
