She Doesn't Work Out Every Day

While her career once demanded daily workouts, retirement for Aly is more relaxed. The Pilates lover told People: “I don’t work out every day at this point, but that’s okay. I worked out my whole entire life for very long hours every single day and I’m enjoying taking care of my body and my mind and learning that it’s okay to just chill."

She Loves Cashew-Based Cheese

Raisman is plant-based, so that does cut out a fair few sources of protein. Continuing, she revealed: “Purple Carrot has this mango chia parfait and that is really good and whenever they have a recipe that I like I’ll try to either remake it or I’ll try to swap in some new ingredients to switch it up a little bit." The 2016 Olympics face also said: "I’m kind of obsessed with cashew-based cheese right now."

She Breaks Up Her Workouts

Instead of enduring a super-long session, Raisman prefers to break her gym time into smaller chunks. She told Shape: “I actually feel like I've been able to work out a little bit more than I was before the pandemic,” adding: “It doesn’t mean I’m working out for hours every day, but sometimes I’ll do a little bit of a workout in the morning, and then even do a little bit more in the afternoon. I break it up throughout the day because that’s what’s working for me right now.”

She Loves Pilates

Joining fellow Pilates lovers including Kourtney Kardashian and Hailey Bieber, Aly loves gentle and muscle-building exercises. “What I love about Pilates is that you can kind of maneuver your legs a little bit to the right or left, or do one leg at a time, and it creates such a different burn,” she said.

She Doesn't Eat Meat

“When I was training, I thought that you had to eat meat in order to be strong,” Aly recalled. "Now I’ve been reading up on all the amazing things that plants can do for your body and your mind.” The Mayo Clinic states:

"To get the most out of a vegetarian diet, choose a variety of healthy plant-based foods, such as whole fruits and vegetables, legumes and nuts, and whole grains. At the same time, cut back on less healthy choices, such as sugar-sweetened beverages, fruit juices and refined grains."

Aly is also hugely into mindfulness and meditation as she takes care of her mental health alongside her physical health.
