Having children doesn't always come easy. Whether it's because of medical issues or simply because of choice, not every couple or individual builds a family the "traditional" way.

A lot of celebrities have turned to surrogacy as a solution to infertility and other pregnancy issues.

Surrogacy is when an arranged carrier conceives a baby for a couple or individual. This arrangement can cost $90,000 - $130,000 or even more!

Here are 5 celebs who had children through surrogacy.

1. Gabrielle Union & Dwayne Wade

Gabrielle Union has been suffering from infertility because of a form of endometriosis called adenomyosis.

Gabrielle and husband Dwayne Wade finally decided to do explore surrogacy in 2018. They welcomed baby Kaavia on November 2018.

“I’m so glad I got over myself and my fear of what people would think of me if I did not carry my own child,” Union said in an interview. “It’s OK to bring your child into the world in a way that is not through your body. The world will not consider you a failure. Every route to parenthood is perfect, worthwhile and amazing.”

"As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child" Cooper shared in an Instagram post.

"I'm grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son's birth... Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him."
