She Doesn't Snooze

Nastia gets up early to work out and she's often on the trails before 7 a.m.

"I’d become a classic “snoozer”, continuing to want just five more minutes of extra zzz’s. I’ve found the Hatch Restore is essential for my sleep- allowing me not to hit snooze and gradually wake up feeling more rested and ready to take on the day. Setting my phone on a table away from my bed was also a huge help for me, too," she told fans on her website.

She Goes For Quick Meditation

Liukin values her zen time and regularly keeps in check with meditation sessions. Continuing, the 32-year-old writes: "Spending five minutes journaling, goal setting, or even focusing on my breathing has allowed me to center and ground myself in any situation. Even if its just jotting things down on a sticky note, this practice so helpful before a big business decision or when I’m feeling anxious."

The Mayo Clinic advises: "Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. You can also use it to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming. Meditation can help you learn to stay centered and keep inner peace."

She Listens To Her Body

Discussing her fitness with The Cut in 2016, Nastia revealed:

"I followed a strict plan for 22 years so as soon as I was done competing I was like, you know what? I’m gonna do what I feel like doing. Some days that’s just getting in 20 minutes of some kind of workout, maybe it’s in my hotel room or my apartment or going for a quick jog. But for the most part I love changing it up. I also think that my body responds to that best. When you do the same thing over and over your body just gets used to it."

She Does Boxing And Hot Yoga

Dishing on her favorite workouts following retirement, Nastia added:

"I love boxing with my trainer. I love barre classes and hot yoga. I love Pilates. That really elongates you, but it’s also important to do some kind of cardio and now that the weather’s nice I love running along the West Side. It’s a beautiful view. I take spinning classes, too."

She Puts Passion First

The blonde did, however, state that forcing stuff doesn't work.

"It’s important to find something you’re passionate about so you don’t feel like you’re being forced to go work out. I love going to Pilates and I feel great after it, and yeah, it might be hard to wake up some mornings but at the end … you know that feeling, and it’s worth it," she concluded.
