She Has A Bedtime Routine

Aly knows that sleep is vital to recovery. "I've been taking the last year or so to really try to get to know myself outside of being the gymnast and just focusing on who I am. I would say one of the first things I do to wind down is dim the lights and just make sure it's not too bright. I also will wear, oftentimes, blue light-blocking glasses if I'm watching TV or even if I'm on my phone. But I just find not having a super bright room just helps me feel more relaxed," she told Self.

Her Shower And Skincare Are Simple

The former Fierce Five member also touched on her self-care routines: "Showering, for me, is very relaxing. And having that moment of brushing my teeth and brushing my hair, and putting body lotion or skin care on, is very relaxing. I think it's great to just have that moment for yourself. For skin care, I keep it pretty simple. I've actually found that less is more for me for applying skin care."

She Stays Zen With Meditation

The mental health warrior knows how to keep her anxiety in check, and she's an open book.

"I have found that anxiety, or just overthinking things—which can also be anxiety for me—is so draining and so exhausting physically too. It's really important for me to do something, whether it's stretching or a type of meditation, to help me sleep better at night. If I have time during the day, even lying down for 10 minutes—even if that's all that I have, and I'm somewhere I don't have a bed, I'll literally lie on the floor," Aly told the outlet.

She Eats Tons Of Veggies

Aly has told Women's Health that her plate is always full of nutritious vegetables. The Mayo Clinic encourages the public to eat a diet that includes "a variety of foods from the major food groups: fruits; vegetables; whole grains; low-fat dairy products and lean protein, including beans and other legumes, nuts and seeds; and healthy fats."

She Refuses To Blame Herself

Perspective and healthy mental balance are important to Aly. "I would try to help my younger Self not feel guilty for feeling tired or feeling like I needed to rest. I would tell myself to listen to my body more and give myself what I needed," the Massachusetts native also told Self.
